Al-Shama'il al-Muhammadiyya is a revered collection of over 400 hadiths compiled by the great scholar Imam al-Tirmidhi. It offers a detailed and intimate portrayal of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, including his physical appearance, mannerisms, daily habits, acts of worship, and noble character. For over a millennium, this work has served as a timeless window into the Prophetic presence, deeply inspiring scholars, seekers, and lovers of the Prophet ﷺ across generations. Studying the Shama'il not only enriches one's knowledge, but also nurtures a deeper love, connection, and reverence for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
Shaykh Dr. Muhammad Bin Yahya al-Ninowy is a renowned expert in hadith sciences and among the 500 most influential Muslim scholars globally. Known for his deep knowledge of classical scholarship and the chain of narrations (Sanad), he has dedicated years to studying and teaching the Sunnah. Attendees will have the rare opportunity to receive an Ijaza (certification of transmission) linking them to the Prophet ﷺ through his sanad. The event is open to all - men and women are warmly welcome. Segregated seating will be arranged to ensure comfort for everyone. We kindly ask all attendees to maintain appropriate decorum and observe Islamic dress.
A notebook and pen will be provided to all attendees for note-taking and reflection. A copy of the Al-Shama'il al-Muhammadiyya will be provided (PDF document). If you have a personal copy, feel free to bring it along.
Lunch will be provided for all attendees on both days of the event. In addition, tea, coffee, and light snacks will be available throughout the day to keep everyone refreshed and comfortable.
